How the PSLE scoring system works
The current PSLE system uses broad Achievement Level bands rather than fine distinctions between individual marks. Each of the four subjects receives AL1 to AL8, then the ALs are added.
What is a good PSLE Score?
There is no single score that is “good” for every child. A lower score opens more school options, but the practical decision should also consider programmes, daily travel, culture and the child’s genuine preference.

| 26–30 | Posting Group 1, subject to English and Mathematics requirements |
Posting Group does not permanently lock every subject at one level. Full Subject-Based Banding supports subject-level flexibility based on readiness.
