How the calculator and planner work

PSLE calculation

Raw marks are converted using the prevailing Achievement Level bands. The four subject ALs are added to produce the total PSLE Score. Foundation-subject grades use their corresponding AL equivalents.

School information

School profiles, programmes, subjects and CCAs are drawn from MOE and data.gov.sg datasets. School score ranges are labelled by posting year and should be treated as historical references.

Fit labels

“Safer”, “within range” and “ambitious” compare the child’s selected score scenario with a school’s reference score. They are planning labels, not admission probabilities.

Location

The radius tool uses map coordinates where available and shows approximate straight-line distance. Actual public-transport time, transfers, walking routes and traffic can differ.

Decision matrix

The comparison score combines score fit, commute, child enthusiasm and programme fit using the weights shown in the planner. It organises a family discussion; it does not produce an official or recommended posting order.
